98% of the children we work with at World Impact do not have both a mother and a father at home.  Many don't have either and are raised by grandparents.  The drop out rate in west Oakland is over 50% and at any time of day or night you can find youth on the streets.  It's not an easy place to have a childhood.

     We believe that if each child were given an opportunity, they could succeed.  Unfortunately, there's just not enough love flowing in the Lower Bottom neighborhood for them.  We would love to have a dymanic youth leader to come and help us run our children's programs.  The person would run and coordinate our youth programs throughout the year, with the exeption of the tutoring program.  This is a missionary position, and we ask that you are seriously committed to joining the ministry and raising support.  If you are interested and would like to talk to us more about your desire for ministry please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
