Bringing Church to the Poor in Spirit

Church of the Lower Bottoms!

Jesus starts off the sermon on the mount with "Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven!"  Here in the Lower Bottom neighborhood of west Oakland, you'll find a lot of people who are poor in spirit.  At our church, we take on that identity and understand that without Christ we are nothing. Our identity lies in only Him. 

We started having church in the summer of 2007.  We strive to be led by the Holy Spirit and teach our members of the freedom there is in Christ. We meet at 5:00 for a family style dinner and then service starts at 6:00.  It's a small crowd, but no one who comes attended church regularly two years ago!  If you're in the area we'd love you to come and join us for worship.
